Community Adventures

Here you’ll find updates about our outreach adventures. Beyond the stage, we love finding creative ways to connect with our community and share the joy of the arts. From local events to special projects, we’re always looking for ways to bring people together and spread a little extra magic, even off the stage.

December 2025 - Christmas Meet & Greet

This holiday season, we hosted a Christmas Meet & Greet so families could take free pictures with their favorite Christmas characters. It was a simple way to give back and spend time with our community.

We waved at passing cars, posed for silly photos, and laughed more than we probably should have. Kids were excited to see their favorite characters up close, and parents captured moments we hope they’ll treasure for years.

Wearing full costumes during Christmas in sunny Florida is no small task — it was definitely warm — but seeing families smile made it completely worth it.

December 2025 - Pinellas Park Christmas Parade

Our float was packed with festive characters. Phoenix may have stolen the show as Cindy Lou Who — much to Barb’s dismay, since she was proudly playing the actual Grinch. Kevin and the Bandits from Home Alone were up to no good, the Elves on the Shelf kept watch, Elsa and Olaf brought the winter magic, and Jack Skellington added his own holiday flair. Even Jesus was behind the wheel, driving the float down the street.

Brody may have been gently persuaded to join us, but it worked out perfectly because he made an excellent Max the dog.

The quote of the night came from Phoenix, who looked out at the cheering crowd and said, “I have never been famous before.” That pretty much sums up the magic of the evening — kids waving, families smiling, and our cast soaking in every second together.

November 2025 - Creating a parade float for local church

Beyond the Wings Theater had the opportunity to repurpose some of our old set pieces to help create a parade float for First United Methodist Church of Pinellas Park.

Instead of letting materials go to waste, we worked together to transform familiar pieces into something new. It was a reminder that creativity doesn’t end when a show closes — sometimes it simply changes shape.

What made it even more meaningful was the people who showed up to help. We had friends visiting from out of town who jumped right in, and kids who chose to give up part of their weekend to pitch in. Their willingness to serve and work together spoke volumes about the kind of community we’re building.

We’re grateful for opportunities to collaborate locally and to use our creative skills in ways that bless others. It was a simple project, but one filled with teamwork, laughter, and heart.

October 2025 - Trunk or Treat

In October 2025, Beyond the Wings Theater had the opportunity to help organize a Trunk or Treat event for local children in Pinellas County. It was a simple but meaningful evening where families gathered, kids showed off their costumes, and neighbors connected.

Between handing out candy and greeting trick-or-treaters, there were small moments that made us smile — sneaking a piece of chocolate, playing K-Pop Demon Hunters in the background, and laughing as Mike ran down the street dressed as Batman. It was lighthearted and fun, and we were grateful to be part of it.
